Pumpkin Patch

October is not complete without a trip to the pumpkin patch! We went to a great one in Argyle last year and after driving past a free and overly packed one in Flower Mound, back to Argyle we went! Although it was a cloudy, gloomy day, we still had a great time. Connor loved riding the Pumpkin Express and running from one exhibit to the next. Carter loved taking in the view and even tried eating some hay while we were trying to take their picture. It was a great pumpkin patch adventure.

Lion, Tigers and Bears, Oh my!

We have been experiencing the awful Texas weather of rain and humidity for weeks now and finally a cool front came through and made for a PERFECT day for the zoo. It was 60 and not a cloud in the sky. Connor has been asking to go to the zoo for months, even wished upon a star he could go while we were at the lake, so I knew it was over due! We arrived at lunch time just as all the buses were loading up to head back to school, perfect timing. Connor LOVED being Carter's tour guide and telling him every animal that was coming up next. Both boys were on their best behavior and we stayed until they kicked us out at 4:15.

We arrived at the lion's den just in time to see him ROAR over and over to his lioness in the next exhibit. What a treat for Connor! He thought it was best thing ever!

The best zoo trip EVER!

We have a climber!

A week ago we let Carter out of the gate to see what he would do and he immediately went to the stairs. From there we thought he would just do a few to see what it was all about and give up but instead he went from the bottom to the top without pausing! He LOVED reaching to the top and discovering the whole new world up there full of big brother's toys. Since then we have let him climb a few times and every time it is the same thing, bottom to top in 1 minute flat! We have a big climber on our hands.

A little R & R

We have made it an annual thing to go on a trip with my family in the fall. The first year we spent it at a bed and breakfast in Fredericksburg, the next year it was a beach house in Galveston, last year we rented a lake house on Lake Palestine and loved it so much we did it again this year, just a different house. Talk about RELAXATION!! Watching the calm waters while drinking a glass of wine on the dock, paradise! We always bring lots of comfort food along and a few games to keep us entertained at night. The house we stayed at this time provided a kayak and we all had fun paddling that along the lake. It is a great bonding time for all of us and a great getaway from reality. I always look forward to the fall now, not only for the cooler weather but for this get trip I know will be worth the wait. I can't wait to see what we will do next fall!

Shopping cart

We went shopping at Sam's and I wish all grocery stores had carts with a double seater!

The boys LOVED sitting next to each other as we browsed the aisles.
