8 months old!

Where has the time gone?!? We can't believe Carter is already 8 months old! Both boys are sure keeping us busy. Carter loves crawling all over the house and boy is he quick now! He loves to pull himself up to stand but then gets frustrated b/c he doesn't know what to do from there. Last night we saw him take a few steps while holding onto the boys toy chest. Carter had a look of amazement on his face as he moved from one thing to another. Connor now has to learn to share his toys, which was not easy at first b/c Carter wants whatever is in his big brother's hand but Connor is adapting and becoming a good toy protector. It is fun seeing the two interact.

Connor had his very first soccer game today! Although he was the youngest player on the field, he had a great time! He was a little frustrated in the beginning when he couldn't get the ball but after watching and catching on, he went after it at the end and tried his best. Unfortunately his team lost, even scored on themselves a few times, but I know a good time was had by all. I know the parents got such a kick out of our little ones racing, tripping, falling, kicking the ball the wrong way and just watching their faces when they actually got to kick the ball. Go Lions!

We have a crawler!

For a few days now Carter has been doing a few strides at a time to maneuver himself to a toy. Last night he did the awesome accomplishment of crawling across the room!! We were so excited!! I moved him back to his starting position, grabbed the camera and we all started cheering him on and he just looked at us like "Are you crazy, I made my way all the over there and you moved me back here?!?!" So hopefully he will give it another try soon so I can catch it on camera.

Carter is mobile!

Carter has been rolling himself all over the place for weeks but now he is starting to figure out that he can scoot, army crawl or just drag his legs all over the room to get to whatever he has eyed, which is usually something dangerous! His favorite "toys" have been the lap top, mommy's pump, any electrical wires and the entertainment cabinets and yes, he can open those! So up in the attic we went and got down the play yard to keep this little guy confined in. At first he was not too happy until big brother showed him how to play with all of the new toys we also got down from the attic. Now he sits in there entertaining himself until he realizes everyone else is on the other side. Luckily Connor has found a new bond with his old toys and plays with Carter while he is in the play yard.

We know we are just days away from him getting a good crawl down. If he could just coordinate his legs and arms to move at the same time!
