Carter and Gavin meet

We had the joy of introducing Carter to his first buddy, Gavin, yesterday. Gavin's mommy, Stacy, and I have had the joy of being pregnant together with both of our kids. Connor and Liliana have been great playmates through the years and we look forward to Carter and Gavin doing the same.
Stacy and I have grown a close bond during this last pregnancy. We both suffered the loss of a miscarriage and the joy of becoming pregnant again, just 10 days apart! I will never forget the overwhelming joy I had when I called to tell her I was pregnant again and her reply was "Me Too!". From there our journey together began. At every get together we compared of growing bellies and I joked during our pregnancies that we will probably both be in the hospital together giving birth just days apart, and it happened!

On January 27th, Stacy went into the hospital for her induction and on January 29th I had mine. The crazy part is that we both had to end up with c-sections and Gavin was born at 1:14pm and Carter was born at 1:10pm. Stacy was the first person I called after my c-section and she and I have been there to help support each other since. It is awesome having a close friend going through exactly the same things I am at the same time. Now we get the amazing pleasure of watching not only our first born grow up together but our second as well.

Carter's First Bath!

Carter had his first bath and it was a success! As soon as we put him in the water he just sat there staring at us with the most relaxed look on his face. We put a step stool by the counter so Connor could help us. Carter sure loved the attention and really enjoyed the bath.

Connor loved being a part of it and was excited when Carter made a lot of eye contact with him. He sure does love his little brother.

When we took Carter out at the end the cries started! He did not want to get out of that warm water.

2 weeks.. means a lot to us!

Today Carter is 2 weeks old! I can't believe how fast time flies. This has been a big day here in the Hudson household. This morning I woke up to discover Carter's cord had fallen off, which means a real bath tonight!! Then when I ventured out of my room I yelled up to Connor "Guess what, Mommy gets to come upstairs now." He replied "Yay! Mommy's boo-boo is better. It ran away! Come upstairs and play." It sure was nice to be able to spend time with him in the playroom and to be able to read to him and put him down for his nap. I am feeling better with each passing day but could not have done it without the help of my wonderful mother and mother-in-law. They have both done so much to help us out the last 2 weeks. Joseph was not able to take off work once we were home from the hospital, so without the mom's help I would have been on my own and probably would have lost my mind by now. I will be on my own next week but I know I will be just fine... may be late to a bunch of things but I think I have a good excuse.

Brotherly Love

We have now been home for a week and I am in awe of how much Connor is in love with his little brother! Numerous times throughout the day Connor will check to see what Carter is doing, softly rub his head and give him a kiss. He gets worried when Carter cries and is quite concerned about the boo-boo on his belly (the umbilical cord). If we move Carter to a different location in the room Connor quickly notices, stops what he is playing with and asks "Uh Oh, where did he go?"

Carter has been an awesome baby. We thought Connor was an easy baby but are shocked to see that Carter is even more. We have been truly blessed with two amazing boys. Life could not be any better!
